Hey all,
Great get-together last week, everyone! So much fun to be able to have a separate game for the littles.
Tonight we’ll let the kids play from around 5:30 until 7 (come and go as you please).
Why tonight? Well, we will have to stay flexible a bit this summer. For instance, this week we are switching it up to work around weather and the AC United Select Tryouts (Wednesday and Thursday). We will also be working around some other events later like our AIYSA soccer clinics (in June and July)—learn more about those HERE
Once again, I will take the younger kids (up to u10 age) up to the u8 and keep the bigger kids (up to u14 age) down on the u12 field at least for a little while. I really want the smaller kids to get more touches on the ball, so I want to keep trying to divide them. Then I may just let them storm down and take over the big kids after a while again. We’ll see.
See you all tonight,
Jesse
👇 For new folks, what to expect 👇
What: The goal of Soccer Club is to simply make it possible for kids to play pickup soccer, which can help improve skills and a love of the game. To achieve this we just get the kids together in relatively similarly-aged groups and let them play with only a minor amount of instruction IF ANY. No pressure, we just tell them to go have fun. Indeed, although the kids will improve their skills playing pickup, fun and enjoyment is the primary goal––we want these kids to love this game so they will want to get better at it.
Cost: It’s free!
Ages: 5 - 14
Who: Although we call this Lawrenceburg Soccer Club, it is not an official organization. Coaches are involved but everyone is a volunteer. The soccer club is just a group of parents helping our kids organize pickup soccer in a way they cannot do on their own (yet!). Hopefully, this will develop a love and passion for the game so that once they can drive they will organize their own pickup nights!
Important: Although we take absolutely every precaution to keep kids safe, and all of the coaches are Safe Sport Certified, parents must understand they are responsible for the health and safety of the child they bring. Every parent will be asked to sign a liability waiver and leave your contact info. This liablity waiver is for the organizers but also note that some venues where we have soccer club require it. Also please do not leave the kids at the park without a responsible adult. We will have waivers with us but also here is the link to print the liablity waiver yourself and sign. Just bring it to the park and hand it to me (Coach Jesse).
Bring: Cleats and shin guards are recommended but not required. Coaches may have some extras on hand. Also, please make sure the children have water bottles. Water breaks will be given several times to ensure good hydration.
AIYSA Signups: If anyone would like to sign up for Spring soccer with AIYSA (not affiliated with the soccer club), let me know and I can get them a signup sheet whenever we are at the park! Or you can go here to sign up!
I (Jesse) will be the one who looks like this👇
